THE STORY OF SAINT VALENTINE!!!

“He was a Roman Priest at a time when there was an emperor called Claudias who persecuted the church at that particular time, concerning marriage of young people. This was based on the hypothesis that unmarried soldiers fought better than married soldiers because married soldiers might be afraid of what might happen to them or their wives or families if they died.”

” We must bear in mind that it was a very permissive society in which Valentine lived, the church thought that marriage was very sacred between one man and one woman for their life and that it was to be encouraged. And so it immediately presented the problem to the Christian church of what to do about this.”

“The idea of encouraging them to marry within the Christian church was what Valentine was about. And he secretly married them because of the edict.”

Valentine was eventually caught, imprisoned and tortured for performing marriage ceremonies against command of Emperor Claudius the second. There are legends surrounding Valentine’s actions while in prison.

“One of the men who was to judge him in line with the Roman law at the time was a man called Asterius, whose daughter was blind. He was supposed to have prayed with and healed the young girl with such astonishing effect that Asterius himself became Christian as a result.”

In the year 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a three-part execution of a beating, stoning, and finally decapitation all because of his stand for *Christian marriage*. The story goes that the last words he wrote were in a note to Asterius’ daughter which many take as an advantage to indulge in sexual lust today “from your Valentine.”

St. Valentine gave his life so that young couples could be bonded together in holy matrimony and not for boyfriend and girlfriend or people in courtship to be bonded together through sex or any form of lust. They may have killed the man, but not his spirit. Even centuries after his death, the story of Valentine’s self-sacrificing commitment to love was legendary in Rome. Eventually, he was granted sainthood and the Catholic Church decided to create a feast in his honor. They picked February 14 as the day of celebration because of the ancient belief that birds (particularly love birds (also owes and dove) began to mate on that day.

It’s surprising to know that Valentine’s Day is really founded on the concept of love in marriage to keep the love in marriage burning. Don’t waste your destiny as a youth because of your ignorance, wait till you are married and the expression of love will be much appreciated as a couple.

STAY IN CONTROL: TIPS TO HELP YOU TIGHTEN THE REIN ON YOUR EMOTIONS.

Have you ever been dazed at the possible surge of emotions you can feel within minutes? One minute you were exhilarated, the next depressed, and you’re wondering- what, why, how,when….? This roller-coaster of emotions could soon leave us drained. Our hormones beyond their bodily functions could be culprits of these emotional highs and lows. Learn to get a grip on your emotions and balance your hormones.

Here are some suggestions to help you feel better and live happier by balancing your hormones naturally:

1.) Ask for help when you need it, then take time to appreciate it when you receive it.
2.) Get plenty of sleep.
3.) Do some form of exercise daily. You don’t have to go to the gym or jog 5 miles- just take a walk, do a little gardening, dance for a while or do some other non-sedentary activity you enjoy.
4.) Don’t lose touch with friends and family. Keep loneliness at bay.
5.) Eat organic whole foods whenever possible. Drink plenty of clean water and take a good multivitamin daily.
6.) Leave the television off occasionally.
7.) Relax in the car or otherwise with audio books or some soothing music.
8.) Learn to meditate. This helps you remain calm when the going gets rough.
9.) Don’t take on more than you can handle comfortably. It’s okay to say no sometimes.
10.) Find a health care professional who listens to you and shares your views about caring for your health.
11.) Avoid prescription drugs when possible.
12.) Do your best to keep your spending under control and avoid the stress of financial problems.
13.) If you’re lonely, do something for someone. You’ll be helping yourself as others.
14.) Take a few minutes to do something that makes you laugh.
15.) When you know your emotions are out of balance, acknowledge the imbalance but don’t let it become a focal point in your life. Don’t ignore your feelings but don’t make it worse by allowing them to build stress. Try to turn your concentration to more positive thoughts.

What are goals? Why do we need to set goals? What do we do with goals? This article intends on answering all your questions pertaining to goal seeing and will help us tackle life with a different attitude.

Setting goals gives you long term vision and short term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge and helps you organize your time and your resources, so you can make the very most of your life.

What is Goal Setting?

Goal Setting is a powerful process of thinking about your ideal future, and motivating yourself to turn your ideal future into a reality. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go to in life.

There are various methods in setting goals, involving various steps

Step 1: Make your Goals Specific

When making goals, they should answer the highly specific questions. For each specific goal you should ask yourself why it is a goal and how it helps your life.

For example, I want to lose 30 pounds in the next one month. Who? Me. What? Run a distance daily. Why? To lose weight.

Step 2: Create Measurable Goals

In order for us to keep a record of our progress, goals should be quantifiable. I am going to walk a distance every day is less quantifiable than I will walk 4 miles every day. If you walk 4 miles every day, you will surely know when you are done.

Step 3: Set realistic Goals

Be honest in setting your goals. Evaluate your capability and acknowledge when the goals are a little unrealistic. You need to have everything to achieve your goals. If you need to walk 4 miles a day to lose weight and you do not have enough time, you can employ a less time consuming means .

Step 4: Set Priorities

Deciding which goals are more important to reach completion before the others is very crucial. If you find yourself with too much goals, you might find out that you are not able to accomplish them. It may help to choose priorities when conflicting goals come up.

Step 5: Keep track of your progress

Try to keep track of your progress to know if you are reaching your set goal any quicker. Writing in a diary or journal, is a perfect way of keeping records. You can use audio recordings to keep track. As you improve more, it will surely boost your confidence to reach your goal quicker.

Step 6: Assess your Goal

Acknowledge when the goal has reached completion. Assess the process from the beginning, up until the completion of the goal.

Step 7: Keep setting Goals

Once you have set and achieved your goal, even major life changing goals, you will feel an urge to continue to do this, do not fight it. Instead, set more and higher goals.
